Everything you need to know about measuring, maintaining, and choosing the perfect shade solution.
Measuring Guides
Ensure a perfect fit with our step-by-step measurement protocols.
How to Measure for Outdoor Blinds
- Measure width at the top, middle, and bottom of the opening. Use the smallest measurement.
- Measure the drop (height) from the mounting point to the sill or floor.
- Check for any obstructions like door handles, pipes, or light fittings.
- Note whether the blind will be a recess fit (inside the frame) or face-fit (outside the frame).
Note: Noosa Blinds & Awnings offers a free measure and quote service, so you don't have to worry about getting it perfectly right yourself!
How to Measure for Awnings
- Measure the total width of the area you want to shade.
- Determine the desired projection (how far out the awning should extend).
- Check the mounting surface (timber, steel, or brick) to ensure it can support the awning weight.
- Note the height clearance available for the awning casing and arms.
Note: Noosa Blinds & Awnings offers a free measure and quote service across the Sunshine Coast.
